Our Hearts Break

We can hardly express our grief in words. Late Friday night, 3/21/25, the body of sweet Deihkim was found dumped in a water tank at her refugee camp. She had been abducted, raped, and murdered.

She was 9 years old.

Deihkim was a regular attendee at our tutoring sessions three times per week, and hadn't missed a single discipleship class since September. She was beloved by our staff, her friends, and her mother and two brothers, whom she left behind.

Support Deihkim's Family

First Peter Ministries has committed to supporting Deihkim's family through this terrible heartbreak.

The best thing we can do is try to give her surviving brothers a better life by providing quality education. In Lamka, the only schools with high-standards and consistent teaching are private Christian academies.

We have pledged to pay for tuition for her brothers through graduation. If you want to be a part of this ministry, please use this specific form to donate. It will automatically appropriate your contribution to Deihkim's fundraiser.

 A Word from Pastor Lal:

Today I along with our Tutor and Facilitator Albert Vaiphei visited our dear student Deihkim's mother at Lamka morgue, where Deihkim's mortal body is still lying. I had a lengthy conversation with her about Deihkim.

The moment her mother she saw me started crying and told me the following:

- Deihkim was preparing to present a special song for our upcoming fellowship on March 29, 2025.

- She had also been preparing her verses for our Bible recitation competition.

- She told her mother not to let her absent on Saturday class, because those who completed 3 months attendance get a special prize.

- She also told me after every Saturday class Deihkim asked many questions regarding Jesus; I know these questions come from our Saturday ministry.

- Mother said Deihkim will be so happy now if she knows that 'their Sir' is visiting her today. Because the students are all excited when I visit their camp every Mon/Wed/Fri, since we bring candies and play with them.

I am so grateful to God that we shared to this little girl about Jesus.

Brother Mang's Homily

How long, O Lord, should we shed our tears and mourn?

How long, O Lord, should we shed our blood?

Many innocent souls have perished.

Many innocent souls were amputated.

O Thou, who camest from above, our Lord, and refuge.

Our Redeemer and our strength!

Will You not deliver us from evil?

Will You not deliver us from horror?

When will thy children see Thou presence?

When will thy children bloom?

What hope to us is hope?

What dream to us is a dream?

What future to us is future?

What freedom to us is freedom?

What Justice to us is Justice?

Lord, will you not hear our prayer?

Lord, will not heal our land?

Show us your unfailing love, Lord, and grant us your salvation.

Conversation with Deihkim:

Mang: “Dear sweet Little Kim, will you forgive me for not being there when you cried out for rescue? Will you forgive me that I wasn’t there when you called out with your last agonizing dying tears and strength?

Deihkim:  “Umang, please know this: I am in a better place now. There is someone, the most beautiful, who is my Lord and my everything, Jesus Christ, is strong enough to protect me from all evil. And there is no pain, sorrow, and evil anymore in His presence. And now I know the fullness of Him, and I am being covered with His glory now.”

Mang: Will you please tell our Lord face to face that I love Him a lot, and I love you so much, too, even though some people really hate you on this earth?”

Deihkim: “Eyes have not seen nor ears heard. Nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. It’s beautiful, really beautiful here.”

-Mang, 3/30/25
